You might want to check out www.easyphp.com. Sort of all-in-one package. You install and you're all set. No need to configure, link or anything. Make sure you get the english language package as well. It's in french. When files extracted to proper dirs, just click that 'e' in systray -> configuration -> easyphp -> language (english).
