note 43488 added to ref.ming

Can anyone help me out here. I'm having trouble getting My movies to load because i beleive my school server has not modified the php.ini to automatically include Ming. i'm unsure of how to access the Ming library for my scripts. i tried the dl('php_Ming.so') (can't remember exact format, but can't seem to get this to work. Please help if you can.
