There should be a seperate keyboard just for programmers, that contains a set of special characters EXACTLY the same as the characters we currently escape, but that map to NEW ASCII values and are ONLY used in programming. You'd think the programmers that be would have thought of this... but then again, there was Y2K... *sigh*. If the folks at PHP were to implement this, it would really establish PHP's dominant server-script presence (hint, hint). And getting HTML standards folks to adopt it could potentially topple the "other" server-script guys *ehem*.
