An easier way to do fix the indenting is to send the output as plain text:
<?php
header('Content-type: text/plain');
$foo = array(1 => 'one', 'two', 5 => 'five');
var_dump($foo);
?>
Of course this doesn't work if you really desire HTML output. It's good enough for testing
and debugging purposes tho (especially because you'd run into problems if any variables or keys
contained lesser-than or greater-than characters, or if you're dealing with XHTML, ampersands).
