Foreword:
I'm using Apache 1.3.31 over WinXP Home.
I've been attempting to install php 5 as a module.
I've succeeded, it seems, but I had the following problem.
Because it seems to work now, I'm pointing it out here, HTH.
Sympthom:
no PHP parsing at all.
Firefox returning a "what do you want to do with the-php-file...", prompting for saving or
opening with my text editor. No PHP parsing, that's it.
Apache config:
triple-checked the indications, but to no avail.
Apparent solution:
LoadModule php5_module c:/php/php5apache.dll
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
Action application/x-httpd-php "/php/php.exe"
The fact is:
the last "action" line isn't supposed to be used (as from install.txt) for when
installing PHP as a module. It's listed under the notes concerning the CGI installation, but...
it simply didn't work until I put that line there.
Now the question is:
have I done it right?
is it now running as a CGI or as a module?
was that indication missing with PHP5 in install.txt?
That's all...
