i noticed that when your script tag in the head of your xhtml document is not closed correctly,
Internet Explorer can not display the page
-> the result is a white page:
<script src="../CSS/algemeen_script.js" />
the right right syntax:
<script src="../CSS/algemeen_script.js"></script>
NB: this problem doesn't occur with Mozilla's FireFox
