You may have to add explicit protocol:
xslt_set_base( $xp, 'file://' . dir( $xsl_filename ) );
if you try to include a stylesheet via <xsl:include href="xxx"/> and get a pesky
[unknown encoding '' in ...] error from XSLT extension (Sablot version 0.90).
