On XP pro to get MySQL working I:
(a) had to uncomment
extension=php_mssql.dll
extension=php_msql.dll
extension=php_mysql.dll
(b) the php.ini file in my PHP directory is used first, rather than the copy in the windows
directory? strange but true.
the above two things got the php 5 install to work with php for me, i am very happy now...
