To get jpeg support working with jpegv6, after downloading and make-ing jpegv6, you need to
"make install" and "make install-lib" It's the "make
install-lib" that installes the jpeg libraries. If you don't install the libraries, the
php configure script will correctly complain that it can't find the jpeg libraries.
Then use --with-jpeg-dir=/usr/local in your php ./configure.
