QUICK Steps to Install Apache, PHP and MySQL in Windows platform
================================================================
1. Install the Apache server using the installer
2. Stop Apache server
3. Install PHP using the installer
4. Unzip the PHP source into some folder in the Hard disk
5. From the PHP source copy the SAPI folder to the location where PHP is installed (e.g. C:\PHP)
6. Copy PHP4TS.DLL to Windows\System32 folder
7. Edit HTTPD.CONF file for Apache Server and insert following lines (change the file path if
required):
LoadModule php4_module C:\PHP\SAPI\php4apache2.dll
AddType application/x httpd php .php .php3 .phtml .php4
8. Start Apache Server
9. To test PHP file create a PHP file with PHP extension in
ApacheFolder\Apache2\htdocs
10. Write the following code in PHP file
<? PHPINFO() ?>
11. Now in the Internet explorer open the web page http://localhost/MyPHPFile.PHP
12. Now install MySQL using the installer
13. To start MySQL as a service in windows enter the following command at the DOS Command Prompt
goto C:\MySQL\Bin (or the path where MySQL is installed) and enter the following commands:
> MySQLD --install
14. To start MySQL enter the following command to Login into MySQL using the Administrators
account (root)
> MySQL u root
15. To test MySQL use this command
mysql> show databases;
16. Lastly, run a script from PHP which use a MySQL table to test all your installation
