Adding the current directory to your include path can make it useful to make your scripts
installable in other environments:

$defaultPath = ini_get('include_path');
$thisDir = getcwd();
$defaultPath .= ":$thisDir"; // colon is unix-style
ini_set('include_path', $defaultPath);
