note 45135 added to function.exec

I am trying to run exec("custombrowser.exe http://php.net") and I have tried everything to get it to run in both W98 and XP. To make this question easy, can anyone prevent exec(notepad.exe) from hanging until you close the instance of notepad? I am using PHP 4.3.3 and Apache 1.3.27 ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.exec.php Edit -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=edit+45135 Delete -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+45135&report=yes Reject -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=reject+45135&report=yes Search -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
