Note Submitter: petermoulding.com ---- If you are having trouble removing directories under Windows, check Windows Explorer and the like. rmdir() will not remove a directory open in a file browser. It is easy to fall in the trap, especially if you use the file browser check the progress of a deletion. Directories may also lock up if recently visited by a Microsoft Office program, as some Office programs, like Word, leave stray locks on closed files. You might have to close the app to free the lock.
