Note Submitter: Aidan Kehoe php-manual at parhasard dot net
----
Note that if <?php $str ?> is a UTF-8 encoded string, a call to <?php
preg_match_all('/./us', $str, $chars) ?> will result in <?php $chars[0] ?> being
an array of the UTF-8 encoded characters.
(I saw this on another manual page; I can't remember exactly where, but, thanks, whoever it
was, and I think this is an appropriate place to point it out too.)
