I strongly advise when using php5 mysql 4.1.4 either not to bother none of the advice or
instructions will work under windows xp, unless you are compiling from source code. I strongly
suggest using an all in one installer. With problems that entails when it comes to upgrading.
The php.ini file also lack consistency with the directory structure it compiles to. Also take
special care with the installation of Apache. When writing and designing these packages it is clear
no remember to do a user analysis. Or consider how much of a needle and thread job freeware is. Lets
be honest the hardest thing is always getting started!! Thats why we have microsoft so we can get
started easily and then crash and burn. Php etc for those who do not want to crash and burn. But if
only we could all get everything intergrated and up and running. Anyway got to do an uninstall and
start again only my fifth time trying to mesh it all together (Apache,Mysql 4.1.4,php 5.*) All in
one for me now.
