To get PEAR working on a shared host, just make your own little 'pear' directory, and put
ini_set("include_path", ".:/home/httpd/vhosts/dev.domain.tld/httpdocs/pear" );
in the script.
The path ( /home/..... ) is the absolute path to your own pear directory.
( you have to put the libraries you want to use there yourself ).
