I was having issues with ie grabbing a text file which was meant to be treated as an unknown file
type and thus downloaded instead of opened in the browser window.
I used md5 to insert some junk binary into the file which scared ie out of opening it (doesn't
matter where i put it).
basically:
"string" . md5("something", true) . "string"
where:
"string" are the strings you are writing to the file
and "something" is just a string to work from
and when i go to use the file i just ignore the output of the hash.
after this i hit problems when i went to a 4.3 server i just cut and paste the hash output from
notepad into the code as a string and the effect was just the same (probably a bit faster too).
