After trying other suggestions like using
"putenv('GDFONTPATH=c:\\winnt\\fonts\\');" and
"realpath('arial.ttf')" with the font in the same directory as the script. If
you are still getting "could not find/open font" with imagettftext on a IIS server, and
you keep your sites in a different dirve/partition, try the following. Place the fonts in
"\winnt\fonts" folder (directory) on the same dirve/partition.
