Note Submitter: tklinger at bluebottle dot com ---- I recognized that if magic_quotes_gpc is activated and PHP is running on a Windows platoform (like using XAMPP from apachefriends.org) it happens that the temporary filename $_FILE['myfile']['tmp_name'] looks like C:xampptmpphp4b.tmp. It strips out the '\' in the temporary filename. A solution for this is to set magic_quotes_gpc in your php.ini to off.
