Note Submitter: brion at pobox dot com ---- The suggested >2GB workaround to use sprintf("%u", filesize($file)) may fail on some systems, where the filesize() or stat() call itself fails with "(errno=75 - Value too large for defined data type)" and returns false. An ugly workaround is to shell out to a command that does understand large files and will print a string for you.
