I've found that certain characters, when encrptyed, cause some php statements to halt. No
error is thrown, but the statement stops processing arguments and returns.
Specifically, when I test for null values being returned from the db, the 'if' clause
always halts and returns an erroneous false when it hits these certain characters.
This happens when testing for null, or using is_null().
This even happens when explicitly testing for specific characters.
Only empty() works for these odd encrypted characters.
Some other php statements also halt unexpectedly. For example, if I try to display these encrypted
values using an echo statement, the echo stops processing it's arguments when it encounters
these characters.
