allrite, this may be a later addidition, a fix to the function or some oversight by me but it seems
to that the following will do just what you are trying to achieve:
<?php
$filename = "filename.jpg";
$degrees = 90;
$src_img = imagecreatefromjpeg($filename);
$src_img = imagerotate($src_img, $degrees, 0);
ImageJPEG($src_img, $filename);
?>
