After banging my head on this for a few days, I have come to the conclusion that
ImageCopyResampleBicubic does work under MacOS X at all. (I am running Darwin v 10.2.3) The
function executes without errors or warnings, but produces a (correctly sized) solid, black image.
I ftp'd the very same code to a Linux server and it worked fine.
The Mac is running GD 2.0, the Linux box is running GD 1.6... I thought that the compatibility
problem might be in the GD version, but I've read posts elsewhere that say this Bicubic
function has other types of problems on Win 2000.
So it looks like its the OS. I thought I'd give a heads-up to anyone else having the same
problem.
For anyone following this thread who has missed it, GD 2.0 has introuduced imagecopyresampled() and
imagecreatetruecolor(), which replace the need to use any of the functions on this page. My
particular problem arose when doing dev on Mac OS X for a Linux server that had an older GD. Alas!
I'm, not sure if there's an answer, but if anyone knows of a pre-GD-2.0 cross-platform
solution to the Bicubic function, please share. Thanks.
