Note Submitter: chris AT sketchdiary dot com ---- In the sample code by thomasNOSPAM at NO_SPAM dot gutschke dot com, if you use max() instead of min(), you'll get the same scaling without distorting for images with proportions different from the desired thumbnail, but without the black borders. Instead, it will trim off the top/bottom or left/right edges, capturing the center of the image in the thumbnail. Pick your poison, I suppose.
