Warning, isset() returns false for variables or array elements set to NULL!
$arr[key] = 0; echo isset($arr[key]); // true
$arr[key] = ""; echo isset($arr[key]); // true
$arr[key] = NULL; echo count($arr); // 1
$arr[key] = NULL; echo serialize($arr); // a:1:{s:3:"key";N;}
$arr[key] = NULL; echo isset($arr[key]); // false !!
(Tested with PHP 4.3.2)
