On checking, I found that the temporary redirect code for 1.0 was 302 and for 1.1 it was 307, but those made no difference. Others suggested the following sequence session_write_close(); header("Location: http://" . $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'] . dirname($_SERVER['PHP_SELF']) . "/" . "nextpage.php"); exit; [or exit();] but in either case, the $_SESSION variables set just prior to this are still getting lost.
