IIS & SQL Server Set-up
When setting up your IIS web server to access a Microsoft Sql Server (MSSQL) DB your admin must
perform the following:
1. Download the php zip package.
2. Copy the "php_mssql.dll" from the extensions directory within the zip file and paste
into your php root (default: c:\PHP\ ).
3. Copy the "ntwdblib.dll" from the dlls directory from within the zip file and paste into
the dll root
- default: (XP/2003) c:\windows\system32\
- default: (NT/2000) c:\winnt\system32\
4. Edit your php.ini file
- Search for the string ";extension_dir = C:\PHP\" , and
delete the ";" from the front.
5. from the command line run:
prompt> net stop iisadmin
prompt> net start w3svc
6. Test using a page containing phpinfo()
If you don't get any error pop-ups you are good to go.
