Warning: when mail() returns true, it only means that the local mail transport agent (eg sendmail,
postfix) has accepted the email and will try to deliver it. It does NOT mean that the MTA has sent
the mail (or even that it will necessarily be able to).
PHP cannot tell whether the email has actually left the server!
