additional note re "lcfirst()" suggestion --
it could as said be handy in various situations
As regards sentences,
while sentences are of course usually lowercase apart from the first letter so that strtolower()
may be all that's needed, capitals are often used within sentences eg for names (and even for
nouns in some languages) .....
adhered to more by some than others, mind ;-)
