I use a script to read files using readfile() instead of pointing to them in a link in many cases,
and with larger files the default memory-limit of 8MB apparently is too small to read larger files.
I personally couldn't read a 2.77MB imagefile with the default memory-limit, but by increasing
the memory-limit (I put it at 32M just because) the problem was solved.
