----
To install mysql 4.1 for php5 on apache2 (as a MODULE) on a winXP machine I had to do the following:
In 'c:\apache2\conf\httpd.config':
LoadModule php5_module "c:/php/php5apache2.dll"
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
PHPIniDir "c:/php"
Copy the file 'c:\php\libmysql.dll' to 'c:\windows\system32\libmysql.dll'
Rename 'c:\php\php.ini-dist' to 'c:\php\php.ini'.
I dit NOT need to copy it to 'c:\windows\php.ini'
In 'c:\php\php.ini':
extension_dir = "c:/php/ext/"
extension=php_mysql.dll
