I had an issue with permissions and move_uploaded_file on windows 2003 and IIS. What was happening is i would upload a file and then move it to the display directory, but when i went through my web browser to the image in that directory i would get a prompt for username/password. I learned that the file inherits its initial permissions from the temp upload directory, therefore the default internet account did not have permissions to the file. My fix to this was to edit the php.ini file and set a new location for the php upload directory and then alter the permissions on that directory to grant access to the file. Then when i move the file from the new temp directory to the display directory it loads fine. Does anyone know of any pitfalls of this method? ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.move-uploaded-file.php Edit -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=edit+48815 Delete -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+48815&report=yes Reason: bad code -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+48815&report=yes&reason=bad+code Reason: spam -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+48815&report=yes&reason=spam Reason: useless example -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+48815&report=yes&reason=useless+example Reason: contains commercial links -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+48815&report=yes&reason=contains+commercial+links Reason: useless note -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+48815&report=yes&reason=useless+note Reject -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=reject+48815&report=yes Search -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
