Just a comment that the strtotime function supports American date format before it supports English date format. $input = "02/01/2000"; $time = strtotime($input); $output = date("Ymd", $time); For the example date above, the output will be 20000201. However, for the 29th January 2000 (29/01/2000) the output is 20020501 so it assumes mm/dd/yyyy rather than dd/mm/yyyy ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.strtotime.php Edit -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=edit+49422 Delete: added to the manual -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+49422&report=yes&reason=added+to+the+manual Delete: bad code -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+49422&report=yes&reason=bad+code Delete: spam -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+49422&report=yes&reason=spam Delete: useless -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+49422&report=yes&reason=useless Delete: other reasons -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+49422&report=yes Reject -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=reject+49422&report=yes Search -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
