I have noticed a large speed decrease on php 4.3.10 versus 4.3.9, on large unserializes. On 4.3.9 unserializing 850k of data produced no noticable delay in the script, but upgrading to 4.3.10 adds something like 5-10 seconds. So until/unless they make the unserialize function faster, I recommend against using it as a quick and dirty database unless you're willing to drop back to 4.3.9. Previously, serializing your data and writing it to a file was sometimes convenient. ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.unserialize.php Edit -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=edit+49515 Delete: added to the manual -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+49515&report=yes&reason=added+to+the+manual Delete: bad code -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+49515&report=yes&reason=bad+code Delete: spam -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+49515&report=yes&reason=spam Delete: useless -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+49515&report=yes&reason=useless Delete: other reasons -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+49515&report=yes Reject -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=reject+49515&report=yes Search -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
