If you don't wish to pollute your directory with symlinks you could also make a .php-file that
returns other files:

if(readfile ($_GET['file'])===false) {
echo "<p>Unable to open file:
'".$_GET['file']."'.\n";
exit;
}
?>
If you save as "getfile.php", then you can read your php-files uninterpreted by accessing
http://mysite.com/getfile.php?file=myfile.php
instead of
http://mysite.com/myfile.php
