note 42515 rejected from function.ibase-query by irchtml

Note Submitter: franky at gmx dot at ---- with UNICODE_FSS / VARCHAR there seems to be a strange behaviour: i am working with UNICODE_FSS, with both BLOBS as well as with VARCHAR's. - inserting unicode data into the BLOBS works nicely, but inserting unicode into VARCHAR fields just doesn't work (i am using plain sql INSERT command in both cases!). i also have tried using utf8_encode as well as utf8_decode, but the insert never works for the VARCHAR field. - somebody has a solution for this or knows why the same insert does NOT work for the VARCHAR field ????? - please help ! :)
