What the hell is "success" or "failure"?
I relied upon a copy function to return an error in order to conditionally prevent consequent
deletions of files supposedly copied but it let me down badly, with lots of data lost, and now by
trial and error I am having to work out exactly what the logic of it is because the manual is
inadequate.
Strangely, it seems to be possible for the copy funtion to return a success without a file actually
being created.
