We have postgresql interfaced with php4, and php4-cli. If we tried to connect to database using
apache the connection would be established but when the same program is being executed using
PHP4-cli we were getting
FATAL : undefined funciton pg_connect()
After debugging, we found that the required extension modules (pgsql.so and imlib.so) were not added
to the php.ini scripts found in /etc/php4/cli, but, were included in /etc/php4/apache.
Solution to correct this problem is to append the following lines to php.ini file in /etc/php4/cli.
extension=pgsql.so
extension=imlib.so
This was tested on Debian machine. Hope it works on others also.
