I am not too sure about this, but I think I encountered an error here. or at least it's an odd
behaviour.
because I wanted to use this function but be able to configure the path to the logfile in one single
file I put this path in a variable that is in an external file being included whereever I want to
use error_log.
but all the scripts in this form
$logfile = "/tmp/mylog";
error_log ("something to log..", 3, $logfile);
failed.. while
error_log ("something to log..", 3, "/tmp/mylog");
works perfectly.
eventually I used a define constant like this
define ("logfile", "/tmp/mylog");
error_log ("something to log..", 3, logfile);
and now everything is as expected!
