Since it's nowhere documented, I'd like to take a first step in the use of the vertical
bar in the first example in "|<[^>]+>(.*)</[^>]+>|U". The vertical bars
are used to separate the U modifier from the expression. I would like to learn some more on this
subject but can't find it anywhere.
