ok guys please dont lace into me too bad, but heres the problem i had. i thought $_FILES['upFile']['tmp_name'] was merely the path to the temporary file on the local machine; so i was appending $_FILES['upFile']['name'] to it prior to my attempt rename the file and move it to a specified location. To my dismay I looked over this detail every time i consulted the documentation on this site. Anyway I thought I'd share my woes and offer a warning for anyone else who makes silly mistakes at 1 in the morning. ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.move-uploaded-file.php Edit -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=edit+52663 Delete: added to the manual -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+52663&report=yes&reason=added+to+the+manual Delete: bad code -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+52663&report=yes&reason=bad+code Delete: spam -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+52663&report=yes&reason=spam Delete: useless -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+52663&report=yes&reason=useless Delete: other reasons -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+52663&report=yes Reject -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=reject+52663&report=yes Search -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
