I had trouble getting mysql working, here's how to do it:
After running the windows installer:
To enable MYSQL:
1. Download the php_mysql.dll and libmysql.dll from http://uk.php.net/downloads.php (get the latest
"windows binaries" package and extract them).
2. In the windows system "/WINDOWS" edit PHP.INI and uncomment
"extension=php_mysql.dll". Also point "extension_dir" to where the php_*.dll
extentions are (e.g. extension_dir = "j:\php\ext")
3. Copy php_mysql.dll to the extensions directory.
4. Copy libmysql.dll into \windows\system32 dir
