Hey windozers,
It's worthy of note that on the windows platform, a lot of functions aren't compiled into
the default build of php. The exif functions, for example (ie. exif_imagetype), aren't
included.
But fret not. Don't listen to the BS you'll find out through google. You don't need
to download any compilers or patches or anything frightening like that, just do this:
Download the Windows ZIP package from http://www.php.net/downloads.php
(You MUST use the ZIP package because the default "auto-installer" version does not
contain any extensions).
Unzip the package to a temporary directory and copy whatever file you need (in this case,
extension\php_exif.dll) from there into your php folder (C:\PHP).
Open PHP.INI in your Windows directory, find this line:
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
; Dynamic Extensions ;
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
Below that find this line:
;extension=php_exif.dll
... and uncomment it by removing the ;
No need to reset iis or reboot or anything. Just refresh the page and watch it work.
