note 53857 added to ref.mail

Hello, I have a mail program that is set up correctly but my sysadmin that runs the mail server says I cannot send email through my email account because I have not sent my password to the server first. I use phpbb and it works fine (because it asks for my password in one of the setup pages) but my mail program doesn't work because I don't have that.
