Stripslashes is a useful function to remove unwanted backslashes from text area data that is
submitted. Any text area data with certain characters such as ' & et cetera will cause a
backslash to appear before it when displayed in a text area. To get rid of this simply call
stripslashes on the string in question before displaying that string. It even fixes data with
mutiple backslashes such as "////" -> becoming "////////". The original
"////" will be retained by removing one slash per slash.
