note 55118 added to ref.mail

Hi all, I am having problem with sending mail from my domain. 1.sendmail_from key is not set in my server, which is running on unix machine 2. If i send with "from:" header in mail() function, thought it doesn't show any error it doesnt sent mail to those id. 3. Is there any possiblity to send mail without using mail() function? 4. I tried to set the sendmail_from key using ini_set(), it too doesn't seems to be working. 5.
