Oracle 10g client, PHP 4.3.4 and Apache2
This was done on SUSE/SLES9
The solution to this in my case was setting up the enviroment variables for Apahe2 in the
/etc/init.d/apache2 load script
I just added the following

ORACLE_HOME=/home/oracle/product/10.1.0/client_1
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:$ORACLE_HOME/lib
export ORACLE_HOME LD_LIBRARY_PATH
''''
