Gobleteer and others who were critical of Paj's javascript, perhaps there was a misunderstanding concerning the benefits of Paj's script. Use of the random numbers does not weaken the security of this authentication scheme. The use of a "NONCE" (random Number theoretically used ONCE) is a standard practice in many encryption schemes (e.g., digest authentication). Thank you Paj for some very useful code that allows for password submissions over a clear channel. ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.md5.php Edit -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=edit+56000 Delete: added to the manual -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+56000&report=yes&reason=added+to+the+manual Delete: bad code -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+56000&report=yes&reason=bad+code Delete: spam -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+56000&report=yes&reason=spam Delete: useless -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+56000&report=yes&reason=useless Delete: non-english -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+56000&report=yes&reason=non-english Delete: other reasons -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+56000&report=yes Reject -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=reject+56000&report=yes Search -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
