One behavior to be aware of is that if you have "/" in the date then strtotime will believe the last number is the year, while if you use a "-" then the first number is the year. 12/4/03 will be evaluated to the same time as 03-12-4. This is in the gnu documentation linked to in the article. I confirmed the behavior with strtotime and getdate.
