Trying to read a unix-origin file on a windoze system seems to be impossible without first passing
the file through some sort of line-ending filter (I used wordpad). The documentation (found under
'unix line endings') appears to suggest that using the t flag in fopen causes EOL
translation, but that didn't seem to make any difference for me, running php 4.10 bound to
Apache under W2KSP4.
I could bear having an optional flag in fgets (since it's the routine that most needs to know
what sort of EOLs to expect), but it would be okay too if using the t flag did the job.
